Nex-Tech Features Willers Restaurant on Local TV Show
PHILLIPSBURG, KAN 2-7-12 – Nex-Tech recently filmed an episode of “Local Flavor” at Willers restaurant located at the golf course in Phillipsburg, Kansas. “Local Flavor” is a TV show produced by Nex-Tech Local TV and hosted by Deborah Anderson, a Nex-Tech employee from Lenora. The show taps the expertise of people in the Nex-Tech service area with reputations for making terrific food, and divulges recipes, tips and tricks designed to help viewers create their own culinary magic at home.
Willers owners, Scott and Kay Willer, watched “Local Flavor” on Nex-Tech TV and agreed to share some of the recipes perfected at the restaurant. The episode features Scott, along with their son, Erik, showing viewers how to make a grilled sirloin steak with homemade scallion butter and glazed baby carrots. “We usually spend Tuesdays when the restaurant is closed trying new ideas and developing new menu items. Erik came up with the brining technique for the sirloins, and this, paired with the scallion butter, has been a huge hit at Willers,” said Scott.
“I was impressed with how much Willers has to offer,” said Deborah Anderson, “Local Flavor” host. “Filming there was an absolute pleasure. Scott, Kay and Erik made us feel like family, and I have been craving those carrots ever since we finished filming. I can’t wait for them to be added to the menu at Willers, and I might even have to give them a try at home.”
