Regional SRS Office Complex

The regional SRS office complex building negotiation was completed back in May 2004. After notices were sent out by the State of Kansas Administration office in October 2003, in regards to locating and determining a logical existing building for a regional office, PCED’s director sent a proposal for this office complex to be located in Phillipsburg with some options to consider. Initially the direction of the state office was only for existing buildings, but after many months of discussion, consideration of build-to-suit options lead to the direction toward construction of a new building. This complex also houses the Highway Patrol offices. Construction on the complex started in the summer of 2004 and was completed in early 2005

With the states direction to consolidate and conserve tax-payers dollars, many local SRS offices were going to close in the area, including our own local office. Because of this new complex being located in Phillipsburg, approximately 20 regional jobs were retained, included those of the Phillipsburg SRS office, with the promise of new jobs to be created. This complex is located on the north side of Highway #36, just to the east of Alco.
