Legacy Committee

Legacy Committee: Dedicated senior volunteers whose mission is to lay the ground work for a group of seniors to identify county wide issues of concern to the elderly and to seek solutions to those problems as would relate to the current seniors and those to come.

Projects:

-AARP Defensive Driving Course:  Provide a driving course to learn current rules of the road and defensive driving techniques. Completion of the course, students could receive an insurance discount.

-Medicare D Project: A program lead by trained volunteers to assist senior citizens in finding insurance for pharmaceutical needs.

-Phillips County Information Magnets:  8×11 magnets were created that listed Important Phone Numbers, Community Foundations Information, and information regarding how citizens can leave a legacy. Magnets are located at community locations throughout the county. Look at Post Offices, Community Centers, and Libraries for your magnet!
